My story

On May 25th 2009 I will be taking part in the Bupa Run 10,000. My aim is to complete the race in under an hour and raise money for The Pituitary Foundation.

I am running so that I can raise awareness about Pituitary Gland Disorders. The Pituitary Gland is also known as the 'Master Gland.' It is located at the base of the brain and if not normal can lead to any of the following disorders:

- Acromegaly
- Adult Growth Hormone Deficiency
- Craniopharyngioma
- Cushing's Disease
- Diabetes Insipidus
- Hypopituitarism
- Non-functioning tumours
- Prolactinoma

I want to raise as much money as possible to further research into Pituitary Disorders as those who suffer from them require continual monitoring and can impact on many aspects of their life.... I know because I am a sufferer.
