After being affected by the Cockermouth floods in 2009, on the 18th September i'll be cycling 40 miles (with my friend Ange as 'Team Betty & Bernard' - we'll be wearing tutus!!) in the CCF/Jennings River Ride event for Cockermouth Flood Action Group (for more info see: www.cockermouthfloodactiongroup.org.uk), to help raise funds towards the town’s £5.2 million flood defence scheme. In order to secure Government funding the community has to raise £300,000. Cumbria Community Foundation has been very generous and kick started Cockermouth Flood Action Group’s fundraising efforts by giving £100,000, which leaves us with a target of £200,000. Please help....
