HELLO!
On 25th May I'm hobbling round the Bupa 10k in central London. This isn't just a ploy to avoid the costs of an open-top bus tour (although I've never been to St James' Park and I've heard it's rather nice), it's also to raise money for Self-Help Africa.
The charity is committed to helping rural communities become self-reliant; encouraging participation of the poor at every stage of the development process. I don't know about you but I think this is the way things should be done. It not only ensures that any improvements in the living conditions of those in rural Africa can be maintained, but as this mantenance is conducted by locals it enables that sense of dignity and self-worth that can only be obtained from acheiving something brilliant, all by yourself.
