Updates:
(28/01/09) It's done! I am now a very bald Jenny, and I regret nothing :) Both me and this page are still accepting sponsorship, so let's reach this target of £1000!
(11/02/09) What do you say guys? Shall we go for gold? We've already passed my original target of £500, and more sponorship is coming in still - so let's aim for £1000! This makes me very excited, I can't believe this is raising so much! Thanks again to everyone who's donated!
(28/01/09) I want to say thank you so much to everyone who's donated so far! It's been really great to get so much support!
Also, the official date for my hair disappearing is now Friday 27th Febuary - it's happening at a charity gig called Thirst Aid (which is in aid of St Johns Ambulance, not MSF, just to be confusing..) You can find details of it on Facebook, and tickets are available for a mere £4 from Island Books, St John Ambulance HQ, Old Friend's Club, Path Lab Office at Nobles, and of course from my self :) Just to clarify, this band night is in aid of St John Ambulance, but sponosrship for the hair shaving is going to MSF.
Thanks for visiting my page!
There's an amazing charity out there called Medecins Sans Frontieres - they're an organisation that provides emergency medical assistance to people who need it most, and they also have ongoing projects in several countries. Please take a look at their website to find out more: http://www.msf.org.uk
I really wanted to help raise money for them, so on 28th February 2009, I will be shaving off my long locks, and going bald! It seems that shaving my hair is quite a controversial idea, but this is something I really want to do, and I hope that you'll all support this (and me, in my egg like state afterwards!).
I've set the target to £500, because ideally I'd like to raise at least that, but of course, if we overshoot it wouldn't be a major castastrophe :)
So if you can spare anything, even just a pound, please donate, either on here (which MSF has said is the easier option) or see me in person because I have a shiny sponsorship form.
Thanks so much!
Jenny.
P.s. Some info about Just Giving:
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Médecins Sans Frontières UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
