I'm doing the Great South Run to raise money for PEACH - an amazing Charity who help families with children on the Autistic Spectrum to set up home ABA programmes. My son has been working with PEACH for over 18 months now and has made incredible progress - we are so proud of him!!
After watching all Charlie's hard work I thought it was time I made an effort too so I will be running 10 miles (probably for the first time in my life) at the Great South Run in October.
I have already been hitting the streets to practice (I believe this is called 'training' - not really up with the fitness side of life!?!) I have also spent a considerable sum on some extremely ugly shoes that will apparently stop me from ruining my knees (running in heels is not recommended unfortunately - especially not when sober and for 10 miles).
I have found the best fuel for all this running to be chunky kitkats (the limited edition caramel ones help you go even faster) and a recuperative glass of Chablis is also an essential part of my intensive programme (relax those tired muscles and all that).
Please please sponsor me - those who know me well will realise that running 10 miles is going to be quite a personal challenge and I really want to raise lots of money for PEACH - they have really made a huge huge difference to our family and it's so important they can continue to do their great work - so come on, hand over your money!!
