What is it about?
This is an expedition to help improve the education and quality of life for children in Ghana. This event is organised by Weydon school, in association with SABRE Charitable Trust. Through this non profit making charity the school has launched an international link with a Junior high school in Dwabor.
Through this partnership the school is taking 2 groups of 16 students to improve the learning facilities for the Ghanaian children. Projects involved include building class rooms, redecoration and stocking school libraries, working as a class assistant and supporting extra-curriculum activities
Who am I & what am I doing?
Hi I’m Jessica, and currently studying my last year at Weydon School. During the course of the expedition I will be involved in physically building a new kindergarten for the children and refurbishing all the old school facilities.
Further more we will bring a new culture to the community as well as experiencing theirs, we will help set up events such as a sports day and school plays for the children.
For this expedition I will be trying to fundraise £2150, which includes the international flight ticket, project materials, machinery, and experienced staff to teach us.
