Dental Project Peru

Dental Project Peru seeks to provide emergency dental care and education to the most impoverished and rural areas of Peru. We travel to the most remote communities at high altitudes of over 4,000m where there is often no electricity or water. Once there, we treat children and adults, extracting and restoring teeth thus relieving pain that they have often lived with for years.

My story

Hello All!

Last year I travelled with Dental Project Peru to the Apurimac region of the country to provide dental care. We worked in 4 health posts and treated many children and adults. It was a fantastic (exhausting!) experience. I am very excited to be heading back to Peru with another group of dentists between 1-14 July 2009.

This year the project is introducing a fluoride program to the region. We hope to use this to make further progress toward preventing disease rather than just treating it.
