Hello All!
In 2008 I travelled for the first time with Dental Project Peru to the Apurimac region of the country to provide dental care as a volunteer dentist. A team of 3 dentists worked in 4 health posts and treated many children and adults. It was a fantastic (exhausting!) experience.
In July 2009 I returned to the region with 4 other volunteer dentists and one dental nurse. We concentrated on 2 health posts providing treatment to patients from a wide area. We also visited schools to provide oral hygiene and diet advice and to introduce a fluoride program. The trip was hugely rewarding and we hope to see great improvements as a result of these preventative measures.
More information on the charity can be found on the website- http://www.dentalprojectperu.org/
The stories of the trips I have been on so far can be seen at-

Some may say I have now become a bit of an addict, when I tell you that I will be back in Peru in August 2010. I am thoroughly looking forward to returning and continuing the work out there. Again I will be funding the trip myself but as this is a worthy cause I'm just asking you as my friends if you would feel able to give just a little towards the charity. Thank you for anything you can give.
Jess
