Story
As some of you may or may not know, I am cycling to Paris! I'm taking part in Leeds University RAG's 'Tour To France' in aid of Re-Cycle Africa on April 7th-12th 2010. Altogether I will be cycling for six days, beginning with four days' cycle down through England to Portsmouth, where we will catch an overnight ferry to Le Havre, and then have two days' cycle through France before we arrive in Paris.
...easy!...maybe not. But it's all for a really really great cause. Re-Cycle are a charity that aim to send as many bikes as possible to Africa where they will provide much needed transport to help people get to school & work, and also provide a massive helping hand to farmers and medical workers. In their own words:
"Re~Cycle is a UK charity committed to providing cheap, sustainable transport in Africa. We believe that bicycles offer poor people the best means to improve their lives, giving them opportunities to travel to work and school. They can also be adapted to carry goods and passengers giving small scale farmers and traders the opportunity to reach customers further afield. They are also an invaluable resource for traveling health workers coping with the AIDS epidemic."
...so, my mission is to raise as much money as possible for this hugely worthwhile charity. & that's where you come in. I would massively appreciate anything & everything that you can give. it will make a huge difference to Re-Cycle, & will obviously be a big morale boost for me as I cycle through the sopping wet English countryside in the beautiful April showers!
Please give whatever you can. I am really really grateful.
Thank you :)
