Made it!
Wow - with just 3 days to go today (22/04) the fund-raising passed the mythical £1,200 (okay that's not very mythical) which importantly it means I have reached the target that Alone In London asked me to promise them I would reach. Thanks to everyone single person who donated - it really is massively appreciated and now acts as as a fantastic reminder of why I am going to be going through some pain on Sunday...
But...if you haven't donated and were planning to - please do! It all goes to a very worthy cause (no pun) and surely shows your awe at my, soon to have been completed, achievement.
Anyways - thanks again to each and every person below; here's to Sunday - I'll write a long update post race no doubt of how it all goes. If you're in London get yourself down to the North bank for the last 5 miles and encourage the hell out of every runner you see!
Darren Williams is working on the Shard London Bridge www.shardlondonbridge.com , will take part in 2009 London Marathon to raise money for homeless charity Alone in London.
Alone in London works to prevent youth homelessness and has been supporting young people in crisis for more than 36 years. It has a twin track response to homelessness. In addition to providing practical and emotional support, it has developed a successful prevention of youth homelessness programme, which runs in schools in such disadvantaged inner-London boroughs as Camden and Islington.
Every year, their drop-in centres provide support to over 2,800 young people. Alongside these, 900 pupils benefit from Alone in London visiting their schools.
Darren is aiming to raise £1,200 so any help towards that target will be much appreciated
So please sponsor me now!
