Its all over and I got round in 3hrs, 37 mins and 56 seconds. I came 5344th overall and 1065th amongst 40 something men....When this photo was taken I felt terrible and said I'd never do it again. Now, I'm tempted to give it another go, so look out for another sponsorship in a year or two.
Thanks to everyone who sponsored me. If you haven't yet, its not too late. Help me beat my £5,000 target for African Initiatives.
African Initiatives is a small committed charity that works directly with African communities to develop self sufficiency across a range of enabling projects. I have continued to support them over the last 6 years because I know that they will maximise how they spend every penny of their funds, which are measured in thousands and not millions. Here are some examples of how your sponsorship could be spent - £10 can provide training to two farmers in tree planting to improve soil and water conservation; £20 can fund the building of a toilet block for a girls school in Tanzania; for £100 African Initiatives can train, support and advise a farming community in Ghana.
Some of my sponsors from last time round have also gone on to be regular supporters of African Initiatives. I hope you will too, so please visit their website at http://www.african-initiatives.org.uk.
So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support.
Jim
