Raising money for Dyslexia Action

6 million people in the UK are affected by dyslexia, that's 10% of the population. Dyslexia can affect all areas of your life, not just reading and writing. It can cause low self esteem, anxiety, frustration and even depression if unidentified. Through our 26 centres, 158 outposts and our work in schools we work to improve lives through education. <p> Your money could make a real difference to the lives of those affected by dyslexia. <p> £25 - could fund a one hour session of multi-sensory tuition £50 - could pay for a parent to attend an awareness course £100 - could help towards the cost of keep a local centre open for one day Your donation will enable us to continue with our valuable work.

Dear All

As many of you might already know, I am running the London 2012 Marathon for Dyslexia Action. The reason that I have chosen this charity is that I and many of my students are Dyslexic. It took me up until last year to except and recognise my Dyslexic traits. I also wrote my dissertation, for my BA, on Dyslexia and learnt alot about the disorder.

I feel that there is still a stigma attached to being Dyslexic and also a lot of ignorance. So hopfully my doing this will help to raise awarness a little!

Now that is why I have chosen Dyslexia Action and why i have chosen the Marathon is still beyond me!!!

I need all the support that I can get, so please dig deep!!!
