Help raise money for the British Horse Society!
I am taking part in a 150-mile Challenge Ride through the land of the Maharajahs in rural Rajasthan. This amazing 11-day journey takes place in September 2010 and will help raise awareness and much needed funds to further the Society’s crucial welfare work. The Society responds to cases of equine suffering in an informed and sympathetic manner, giving advice and guidance to horse owners on a wide range of topics. The majority of cases that welfare volunteers respond to involve neglect rather than cruelty therefore most cases can be resolved by simply educating horse owners.
Although this is not a charity that is close to everybody's hearts, it is particulary close to mine as I have volunteered at a local riding school (who's owner is a BHS welfare officer) for the last 8 years and have seen first hand the effects of neglected and abandoned horses.
Seeing the hard work the British Horse Society does and contiues to do, has inspired me to undertake this personal challenge and give something back.
Thank-you in advance!!
