I DID IT! Despite spending the best part of a week in bed with bronchitis, and torrential rain and hail on the day, I managed to run every mile of the marathon. I finished in 4 hours 47 minutes, 24 minutes faster than last year so I am really pleased. Thank you to everyone who supported me, it meant so much knowing you were all behind me.
This year I am raising money for Heath Unlimited, this is a brilliant charity that works in Africa, Asia and Latin America to improve the health of communities in remote areas that receive little help from their governments because they are considered too expensive to reach. They aim for a long term improvement in health care by investing in the potential of local people to take control of their own health. This is achieved by training local people to become health care workers, providing health education programs to increase awareness of common health problems, and working with communities, health service providers and policy makers to secure access to effective primary health care. They also equip remote communities with wells to provide clean water, and build health centres and hospitals.
I hope you'll agree that this is a very worthy charity. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Health Unlimited will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
