London Marathon 2008 - CJD Support Network Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. On Sunday 13th April 2008 i will be running the London Marathon for the CJD Support Network. 3rd time lucky some might say!! I have been training on and off for this day for 3 years! As some of you may know, my 1st attempt was unsuccesful due to an injury 3 weeks before, the 2nd attempt was postponed due to the late arrival of my daughter Mia! Mia was born on the day before the marathon! So i thought i would give it one last go!! In memory of Mum! In the spring of 2007 my mother was diagnosed with the CJD illness. CJD is an incurable illness and can be very progressive. The illness was a complete shock to all of the family, as my mother seemed to be on top of the world. Coming to terms with a family member who has an incurable illness was very hard. In August 2007 my mother passed away, which completely devastated me and my family. The nature of the illness proves very difficult to diagnose even for specialist neurologist's. The role of the CJD support network proves invaluable as the illness is so rare, carers, family and professionals are are involved with the illness need advice and support. Myself and my family received a great deal of help and support during my mother's illness from the support network. So please help the CJD supprt network help others and sponsor me now!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The CJD Support Network will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support. Joe
