We are doing a charity hitchhike to budapest on the 22nd march as part of sheffield univiersity. We have to get to budapest in 7 days on a budget of £15.
We need to raise £400 for charity. Last year bummit raised £70 000 for charity for local and national charities.
The two main charities this year are:
Catch 22 – this provides a service to 15 to 25 year olds involved in criminal activities, these people have the potential to offend, and they are offered counselling and education. This charity works with their families and communities so that young people become more productive, independent and therefore the whole community benefits. Over the years, they have worked with tens of thousands of people for young people in difficult situations.
Fable – this charity promotes awareness of epilepsy through education and publicity with money used towards Vagus Nerve Stimulation Therapy which is a treatment for those with epilepsy which cannot be controlled with medicine alone. They support the Epilepsy Information Drop in Centre in Sheffield and help the family of those affected by this condition.
Any donation however small is appreciated.
Thanks joel and Emily
