We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. In May 2007 my grandmother passed away. She suffered horribly from dementia and it was a terrible thing to witness. My grandmother was a wonderful person and the best possible grandmother a grandson could wish for. I thought it would be, in some small way, a fitting tribute to her to raise some money and awareness for the Alzheimer's Society's cause. On October 12th 2007, therefore, I will be setting out for John o'Groats and on October the 13th I will start a 15 day solo cycle ride to Land's End (with only one day off in the middle). The total distance will be around 950 miles (that's if I don't get lost) which is about 70 miles a day. Training has already started and I already know I'll be in for a tough time!!! So, please dig deep and sponsor me online. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support. It really is appreciated. Simon Collins
