UPDATE:
Due to personal issues I was unable to meet my target by the end of 2010 but I am determined to reach it in 2011! Faith is ready to go to a new home - I saw her over the xmas break and she is looking SO beautiful - and I am ready to start running again.
I deeply appreciate the support given to me that will go towards helping Faith and other animals like her that are cared for by the staff at BCDH. The challenge is back ON!
The smaller picture to the left of this page is of a young English Bull Terrier girl - now called Faith - just after she'd been rescued from a hideous experience. You can read her story here. Now safe in the care of Bath Cats and Dogs Home, Faith is a sweet, friendly little dog who endured horrors and will need a lot of love and time to recover from her early life. BCDH will certainly make sure she gets both. The bigger photo shows Faith after just a few weeks with BCDH - look at that smile!
I'm challenging myself to lose 25 lbs by the end of the year. I'm also going to run 5k on New Year's Day. Please sponsor me and help BCDH.
3000 is the magic number for BCDH - they care for 3000 dogs, cats and small animals every year and it costs them £3000 a day. They have to raise those funds themselves.
Please consider sponsoring me. Your money (plus Gift Aid) will go to a fabulous centre where the staff are beyond dedicated to the welfare of their charges - bewildered little souls like Faith and many more besides. You'll also be supporting me on my path back to health and fitness!
Thank you.
Jo
P.S. I saw this little girl up at the home after just a couple of weeks in their care. She was waggy and friendly and I got to rub her nose and scratch her back. BCDH are working their magic.
