SAX FROM SCRATCH - RAISING MONEY FOR BOLTON HOSPICE
As my three sons were growing up I watched them learn various musical instruments but could never get into it myself. An ambition of mine has always been to play the saxophone but so far has eluded me. Five years ago, for my sixtieth birthday, my wife, Moira, bought me an alto saxophone in hope that I might achieve this. Five years later it was still in the case!
That is until I read Chris’s appeal in The Bolton News for nine nervous contestants to come forward and have just six months to perfect a musical instrument from scratch. We will be expected to perform live in front of discerning judges and YOU to be staged at the Last Drop Hotel & Spa on Friday 27th November 2009.As Managing Director of Carrs Pasties we like to support Bolton Hospice whenever possible. Our staff and family have made some big efforts in the past so now it’s my turn.
The incentive of raising money for the Hospice has committed me to achieve my goal of learning a musical instrument, this time, I hope, before my grandchildren Seamus and Ethan.
Anyone kind enough to give modest sponsorship can do so RIGHT HERE on this web page or in any of our shops.
