Story
Thank you for visiting! We're raising money for the SCI, the Schistosomiasis Control Initiative, part of Imperial College Trust, which aims to eradicate water-borne parasites.
SCI is a charitable institution and all donations received go straight to the country in need.
Protecting people from these diseases costs 25p a person, and has been shown to be one of the most effective ways of helping people out of poverty in Africa. People who receive treatment can work, learn and farm more effectively, and are less likely to contract malaria and HIV. Neither do they suffer from the blindness and elephantiasis that goes with some of these infestations.
We'd like to raise £1,000 by the end of the year, and are starting with the 10k in Bristol on 9th May. This will go to support work in schools in Uganda and the Côte d'Ivoire.
