Once again the National Blind Children's Society is providing me with the opportunity to take part in th Flora London Marathon in 2008. Last year was my first marathon and supposed to be my last!! I promised Julie I would never do it again - but couldn't resist the opportunity to have another chance of putting myself through the agony of running 26.2 miles and the fantastic feeling of crossing the finish line
Last time I was able to raise almost £2500 for the NBCS which is such a worthwhile cause, so I have a very challenging target to match that this time!
Please visit www.nbcs.org.uk for details of the fantastic work the charity carries out.
Update 21st March 2008
Final 20 mile run on Sunday!! Then start to taper - sounds like I jnow what I am doing!! Not sure about that but happy to listen to people who DO know how to run a marathon.
The support I have had has been even better than last year, which was brilliant in itself. This will be my last maathon - I am going to concentrate on shorter races in the future. It will be nice to run a few half marathons and 10k's again!
Amanda and Lance's wedding plans are going well - Amanda and Julie are going looking at wedding dresses tomorrow.
This will be my last update until after the marathon - I would like to thank everybody who has sponsored me so far - it never ceases to amaze me just how generous people can be.
Once again thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online. Please pass on the address of this webpage to all of your family and friends.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: National Blind Childrens Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
John
