       John McSorley, Charity Parachute Jump,

So I'm off to The Gambia in December to help out a charity called The Gambia Horse & Donkey Trust and trying to raise some much needed funds by jumping out of a perfectly good and servicable aeroplane at 3,500 feet and landing safely with the help of a parachute. Well, that’s the plan.

So if I reach my target of £500 I jump, and I know that some of you will be hoping that the 'chute doesn't open, 'just for a laugh', so go and click the DONATE button now!

This is a very worthwhile cause and a bit of background about the charity:

The is one of the smallest and poorest countries in with a population of 1.5 million, most of whom are peasant farmers. The Gambia Horse and donkey trust sets out to:

· Educate the farming community into looking after there animals welfare, which will prolong the animals life  and  provide the farmer with help to grow crops, feed himself and his family and become self sufficient and hopefully to sell what is left over.

· Training Extension workers

· Liaising with appropriate agricultural agencies to teach the farmers how to use the animals and land to it's full potential.

· Providing after school training for clubs for children and introduce teamwork through sport.

· Employing a Gambian Vet surgeon and his team of assistants to ensure ongoing care for the working animals.

· Making full use of locally available medicinal plants

· Making use of voluntary expertise from abroad to provide specialist training.

So go on, donate some cash to a very worthwhile cause and in return I promise to post you some pictures of yours truly in his snazzy jumpsuit and helmet and other pictures from the day. If the 'chute doesn't open I promise not to ask you for anymore donations EVER!

THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR DONATION TO A VERY WORTHWHILE CAUSE !!!
