My personal message:

So far the furthest I've ever run is a half marathon! Just how I got talked into the London Marathon, I don't know. But I'm really pleased to be able to raise money for Christian Aid. The challenge they've made (as well as the running) is to raise two thousand pounds! Any help you can give would be very welcome ...
