We need your help!

Four fitness fanatics from Aylesbury are bidding to raise £15,000 for a local charity and they need your support. The quartet will push themselves to the limit both physically and mentally to raise enough money to buy two specially-adapted bikes for Action for Children – an Aylesbury-based charity that provides respite care for mentally and physically disabled children in the local area. Your sponsorship will help to make a lasting difference to the lives of the children so please help if you can.

JOHN:

Am I crazy? Don’t know yet. I am John Yarnell and on 21 May I will be competing in a long distance triathlon – Ironman Lanzarote – to raise money for Action for Children. I will be swimming 2.4 miles, cycling 112 miles and running 26.2 miles. It's all too easy to take your own fitness and mobility for granted, so please dig deep and help me out. Cheers!

DARREN:

As our Action for Children fundraiser is all about raising money to buy a couple of specially-adapted bikes for disabled children in the local area, we thought we’d stay on theme and use Darren Evans’ expertise to organise a three-hour spinathon. Yes, that’s right, three hours in the saddle! Entry is £20 per person and the ‘ride’ will take place on 26 March at Aqua Vale in Aylesbury.

SHEENA:

Remember Superstars that used to be primetime family viewing on the BBC? Well, we’ll be organising our very own muscle-busting Superstars event on 2 April in a bid to raise money for Action for Children. Fun and games are guaranteed. Entries are £10 per person and teams are allowed. Please e-mail me at sheena.mcglue@btinternet.com for more information.

PETE:

The tension is building! I am Pete Cairnie and I’m going to run this year’s London Marathon on 17 April to raise money for Action for Children, a superb charity that is based at the Grove Respite Care Centre in Aylesbury. Please help me by buying one (or more) of my predicted finishing time slots. There will be prizes for the three nearest tickets. For more details contact me at petercairnie@btinternet.com
