I will be running the Florence Marathon on 29 November to raise money for Kids Company.
Kids Company was founded by Camila Batmanghelidjh in 1996. They provide practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children and young people suffering neglect and abuse. Many of the 13,500 children reached have experienced severe and multiple trauma; often living in chronic deprivation, with little or no support, and facing the daily anxieties of caring for their family as the role of parent and child are reverse. The support they offer is tailored to the needs of each individual. Kids Company never give up on a child, whatever it takes. To help you with your donating here are somethings that your sponsorship could buy:£50 – buys a school uniform for a year. Many children’s parents cannot provide them with a proper school uniform, making them reluctant and embarrassed to attend school. £50 covers the cost of a uniform for a year, enabling a child to feel comfortable at school and more willing to engage with education.
£100 – will fund a Christmas day meal and activities for 10 children. Each year we put on an amazing Christmas day for over 2000 children and young people. By raising £100 sponsorship you will go a long way to help make this a special day for those who would otherwise receive nothing.
£200 - pays for bed linen for a family of six living in impoverished conditions. For families struggling against extreme poverty, basic domestic essentials are impossible to buy. In many children’s homes, simple items such as duvets, pillows and bed sheets are often old and worn, or lacking altogether.
