Thank you for visiting our Just Giving "JT Snowdon 500 Challenge" site.
Both of us plan to take the Snowdon 500 Challenge on the 16th May 2009, ironically an exact year to the day our good friend John Thornton lost the battle to Prostate Cancer.
The trek takes us on a magnificent 5 hour journey over the beautiful Snowdon mountains to heights of 3560 ft, with some of the best views in the country, starting at Pen-y-Pass and finishing in the village of Llanberis.
The challenge is in aid of the Prostate Cancer Research Centre, which carries out research into the causes of and treatment for the UK's most frequently diagnosed male cancer. The Centre is based at the University College London and needs a substantial £1 million every year to fund its highly respected research programme, so fund raising is fundamental to it's survival and ours!
This charity and all Prostate charities are particularly close to our hearts thanks to the love and commitment of a close friend who unfortunately lost the battle against the disease.
Please give generously as the charity personally means a lot to both of us.
Lets hope the weather's good!
Many thanks
