My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

I am running the 2010 Reading Half Marathon and have decided to raise money for the chairty ONE CHILD.

One of my friends at work recently came back from a trip to India and when talking to him about his trip he told me about some of the scenes which he saw whilst there. He spoke to me about how homeless children were everywhere on the streets begging to get money for food and how some of the children which he saw didnt have any limbs. In his words he said that it was a "moving and upsetting" experience.

His stories have made me realise just how lucky we are to have a roof over our heads food to eat and have had a good education.

The charity provides education, help and development for children in developing countries, for more information about One Child please visit www.one-child.net.

A few examples of how your donations can help are listed below -

- £250 for a teacher, for a whole year!
- £200 to run CECs (Child Education Centres)
- £50 to hold a sports day
- £150 to train mothers on alternative employment

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and help me change the lives of children who do not have the standards of living which we take for granted.

Many Thanks

I am now well into my running schedule training for the 2010 Reading half marathon, first few months have been good but now the dark, wet and cold evenings and mornings are setting in is not so nice running conditions. I have now run up to 6 miles and am running it at a fairly good one hour mark or just over which isnt bad if I say so myself, room for improvement though and the distances I run will now start going up in the coming winter months.

Please support me by sponsering me through this site am help children who are less fortunate than us.

Once again Many Thanks
