| Dear all, I completed the 10km road race in 0:53:09 on Sunday 6th July, after many months training (however sporadically) the event is over! I am pleased to annouce the grand total raise stands at at least £550 including £75 of gift-aid supplement so thankou to all my sponsors es[ecially the coprorate ones, Bike Dock Solutions, Fusion FSM and finally Simple Creations Ltd for producing my self-esigned snazzy racing top for the charity run! I will be departing the UK to commence my employment i Florida as of Monday 21st July. Thanks again for all your support! Jon ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Friends! You may already know I have landed a job close to Miami in Florida, starting in mid-July. However I have decided an act of appreciation is required before I emigrate (for a year or more), whch is to do a second 10km run for a hospitality charity the week before I go, which is Sunday 6th July to be precise, raising as much dosh as possible for them!! £1,000 is my target for Hospitality Action! Those of you that know me, know I am passionate about and very active in the UK hospitality industry on the whole (and also do other charity work), therefore I want to give back to the brilliant hospitality industry that has given me vast oppotunities in life thus far, I am raising money for Hospitality Action (HA). www.hospitalityaction.org.uk The charity's main activities include financial, emotional and physical support to indviduals who work past and present in the hospitality industry and their families following serious accidents, disbilities and onsets of limiting illnesses all for free wih no strings attached for thos unfornuate enough to need their help, plus run schemes on drug and alcohol abuse for young people in schools, colleges and in workplaces around th UK. Please sponsor this worthy cause! My fundraising target is £1,000 please donate as much as you can afford so the charity can maintain and maybe even expand the programe of support to those needy folk that already and may in the future need to depend on. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Hospitality Action will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. I didn't have time to train for the last run on 17th Feb but I still got a time of 0:53:33. My target time come July for the run will be about 0:45:00. I also raised £100 for another charity for doing the run! Training started Monday 14th April! 3-5 days a week average, all at 6am! Considering I get shinsplints and I have asthma that plays up when I run and I'm not a natural endurance runner, this is a pretty tough personal challenge again for me! So please if you can donate to my cause! Oh and also some supporters on th side/finishline(s) would be great too, another hint there... Jon |
