On 19th of September I'll be running/jogging/trotting the Great North Run. Yes, that's 13 mean meandering miles to raise money for the charity Gapaid.

Set up in Georgia French's memory, Gapaid is a brilliant new charity aiming to provide a web-based information portal to promote safe and responsible travel for people taking a gap year and to deliver an education programme in schools on safe travel.

Georgia was an incredible friend to me and many people. She was deliciously fun loving, hilarious, loyal, intelligent and an absolute beauty.  Tragically she was killed in a bus crash in Peru in 2007 leaving her wonderful family and her friends utterly heartbroken.  It was this horrendous accident that inspired her parents to found the charity Gapaid, one that I know Georgia would be extremely supportive and proud of.

This is a very personal cause to me and many others so it would be super to raise a good healthy wad of cash to pass on to Gapaid, enabling them to keep informing future "gappers" as they embark on what should be their trip of a lifetime. PLEASE dig deep and be as generous as you can afford.

Many many thanks,

Jonny Bailey
