I must be mad but I am going to do it - Climb 'KILI' as the locals call it. The highest free standing peak in the world. It stands at 5,895 meters, thats only about 19,000 feet above sea level. The lack of oxygen might get in the way but lets worry about that later!!!!!
Before I get there I have committed to raise £5,000 towards the work of the Nasio Trust (Reg Charity No. 1104542). They do a fantastic job supporting the HIV Orphans of Kenya and you can find out more about their various projects at www.thenasiotrust.org.
We need to raise £30,000 in total to build a second purpose build centre and support even more HIV orphans. Even the smallest amount will be put to good use - £10 will feed a child for one month, £20 will provide a child with clothes, shoes and bedding, £100 will keep a child at the centre for a whole year.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Nasio Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Me before the climb
.... me halfway up
.... me on top
Many thanks for your kind donation.
Jonathan
