As you all know, I'm taking part in the 23rd Marathon des Sables, starting 28 March 2008. This is a personal challenge for me, firstly in memory of my sister, Patricia, and secondly to raise funds for the Association for International Cancer Research (AICR).

Como todos sabéis el próximo año en marzo participaré en la 23 Maratón des Sables. Este es un gran reto personal para mí el cual hago, primero en memoria de mi hermana Patricia y segundo para recaudar fondos para la Asociación Internacional de Investigaciones contra el Cáncer (AICR).

This is the toughest footrace on earth, covering 151 miles over 6 days in the Sahara desert although nothing compared to the race for life that cancer patients and their families face when the disease strikes. By running this race I want to keep the memory of my sister alive. By sponsoring me and donating to AICR you will help to fund new cancer treatments and save many lives around the world.

Esta es una carrera de resistencia de 243 kilómetros durante 6 días en el desierto del Sahara, aunque nada comparado a la carrera contra el cáncer que pacientes y familiares se enfrentan cuando la enfermedad les afecta. Corriendo esta maratón quiero mantener el recuerdo de mi hermana vivo. Ayudándome a recaudar fondos para AICR contribuirás en la investigación de nuevos tratamientos contra el cáncer y a salvar vidas en todo el mundo.
