jorgecaladoracing. has joined "Save the Children" in the fight against children poverty and hunger, and fighting for their rights to education and protection.

As part of our events agenda for 2008, Jorge Calado,representing Save the Children, will make history this summer for being the first ever Portuguese driver to take part in the "Funcup Spa-Francorchamps 25h race"

This race is famous for being the longest continuous motor race in the world, where cars and drivers blast around the track for 25 hours non stop.
It is the ultimate test to physical and mental stamina, where concentration is as important as driving skills.
Not only this event is famous for being the longest race in the world, but also for being held at the magnificent circuit of "Spa-Francorchamps", famous for hosting the Belgian F1 Gran prix every year.
With grids of over 160 cars every year, and entertainment on and off the track throughout the whole weekend, it's not surprising how the stands fill up to the top with over 200 thousand spectators live at the track over the 25 hours, not to mention the 215 million plus spectators watching the race on TV in the UK, Europe, America and the rest of the world.
We are confident this is the ideal event to promote "Save the Children's" message to the members of the public.

Last year 10 million children under the age of 5 died needlessly mostly from preventable illnesses! So our idea is quite simple...

10million children in need, 215million people that could help them!

We are looking to raise at least £10.000 until the race weekend on the 12/13th July 2008!
