My story

1st December: It's over! Valedictory photos can be viewed to the left of this box. The majority of us have now shaved - some mooeys remain, but upon whom?

To everyone who sponsored us: ta very much. It's a pretty decent total.

See you next year?

Update - 27th November - the home straight! Aren't we butch.

Update - 10th November - some lustrous growth now evident.

Update - 3rd November: photos from yesterday added - basically unhairy at this point.

Various brave and hardy souls from the JS Entertainment team are willing to risk ridicule, humiliation and in all likelihood a 'temporary' nookie moratorium - all in a good cause, raising funds and awareness for the Prostate Cancer Charity.

The Prostate Cancer Charity was set up in 1996 in response to the urgent need to increase investment in prostate cancer research and to raise public and political awareness of a long neglected disease, and are now the UK’s leading voluntary organisation working with people affected by prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK - it accounts for nearly a quarter (24%) of all new male cancer diagnoses. In 2006, there were 35,515 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed in the UK, that is around 97 men every day or one man every 15 minutes.

Our sacrifice? We're all growing moustaches. As this isn't the 1970s (or Yorkshire) this is going to put us at risk of ridicule in London society; but frankly we don't care as long as we're raising money for the PCC.

The rules are strict: a full, clean shave on Saturday 31st October to clear away any in situ fluffiness. From then on, no shaving of the upper lip, but regular shaving of the cheeks, chin and jowls... so no goatees. The only additional ornamentation permitted is a tufty protrusion from just below the lower lip - I hope you'll agree most right-thinking citizens will be as appalled by the prospect of that as of the moustache itself.

December the First will bring valedictory photography, followed by a welcome hack at the sub-nasal thicket/stringiness (delete as approporiate).

Remember, there is a real risk some of these mooeys might come out ginger. Please give generously.
