Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I did it!!!!!!
On 9th May I walked 40kms. We set of at 8.20am from Goodwood racecourse. 10.5 hours and several blisters later, in need of two new hips and one new knee, I finally crossed the finish line, very glad I had decided against doing the 60kms walk!
We were extremely lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy some fabulous views. The enjoyment was tempered somewhat during the last 10 kms, once the pain set in! A little more training perhaps next time!
I am raising money for the Stroke Unit at Wycombe Hospital. As many of you know, my father spent 7 months in Wycombe Hospital after suffering a devastating stroke. Although he received some wonderful care he did not live long enough to benefit from the set-up of the new stroke unit.
Stroke is one of the top 3 killers in the UK but, perhaps more importantly, it is the single biggest cause of disability in the UK. Stroke units, like Wycombe, make a huge difference to the long-term outcomes of stroke patients.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Stroke Support Fund, a sub- charity of Bucks Hospitals NHS Trust, gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
