Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
My sister, Jennifer, spent the last three weeks of her life at St Luke's. The wonderful care she received there made this difficult time one that could nevertheless be enjoyed with her by friends and family. She wanted to be able to contribute to the future work of the hospice so that others could benefit from their care.
Thank-you to everybody who has donated to St Luke's so far, whether that be via this website or some other means. I also know that many people have raised money for other charities such as Cancer Research and Macmillan in her memory.
It is now over a year since Jennifer died - in that time many of us would have gone out for a meal or a few drinks with Jen. Maybe you could consider donating that money in her memory, or you could set up a regular standing order to St Luke's, maybe to remember a special date. Her birthday was 13th November - maybe you could donate the money you would have spent on a card or present.
Jennifer's ashes are buried in the grave of our grandparents and great-grandparents at St Paul's Church Bentley Common (just off Ongar Road). The family name on the grave, which is just to the right of the main path, is Rainbird and there is now a memorial to Jennifer there. Please do visit - if you need further directions then please get in touch.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Luke's Hospice (Basildon And District) Limited gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for your continuing support.
