My partner Mike Butterworth died in June 2006 from skin cancer.  Karen Groves at Queenscourt Hospice, Southport handled his palliative care.  Karen and her team are truly amazing, as I know some of you have painfully experienced.  Without their care Mike would not have been able to live the last eight months of his life to the full, which he did with his usual gusto.  I, therefore, want to thank Queenscourt Hospice and the best way to do this is to raise funds in order that the great work can continue.

In order to raise as much money as possible, I signed up for a charity trek along the Great Wall of China which I have just completed.  I arrived back in Sunny Southport on 10th October, only to go out agin that evening, on my 'Illuminated Cycle' (Google 'Illuminated Cycles' and see what you get) to carry out a charity street collection whilst the Musical Firework Competition was taking place (£189+ collected, thank you to The Southport Public).

The Trek was very, very tough and it was very hot.  It was a most wonderful experience and I was lucky to spend such a fabulous time with the best of people.  It will take time to get my photo's in some kind of order before I can let people see the best of them.  I took hundreds of photo's so it would be best if I put something together showing the highlights rather than subject anyone to them all!!!

I have organised various fundraising activites over the last 18 months and I did want to organise another event when I got back from China, but the many things I have put off whilst concentrating on the fundraising and my Trek Training have caught up with me and I have to 'get my house in order' in more ways than one.  Please have a look at my website, or contact me on - www.judewilsonfundraising.co.uk.  A great big thank you to all who helped and supported my 3rd annual Party and BBQ in June, over £1,000 raised on the night.  I intend there to be another one June 2010.

The Health & Wellbeing day went very well in August.  A visit from the Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Sefton was particularly exciting for the youngsters in my road!  So much thanks to all who helped, there were so many of you.  I am honoured to have such good friends and to continually meet lovely new people.  Many of my friends came along to my Farewell Bash and the proceeds from the raffle meant I have been able to exceed my target before I go, which is a really good feeling.

The 'Illuminated Cycles' gang will be in Liverpool City Centre for the Christmas lights switch on, see you there. Googleing it!

It has been nice to get back to fell walking/rambling (or whatever you like to call it) I want to keep it up so please, if you would like to join me please get in touch.

As you can see, I have exceeded my target and my thanks go out to all who have helped in so many ways.

Thank you so much, in advance of any donation and for taking the time to read this.

Love

Jude X
