1625 Independent People (Formerly Priority Youth Housing and Wayahead Housing and Support)

Independent People provide housing, support and advice to young people aged between 16 and 25 in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

We exist to support young people to build independent lives. We do this by helping them find (and keep) a safe, stable home. We also offer non-judgmental support and advice on counselling, training and help finding jobs. Most young people are referred to us by the Local Authorities having presented themselves as homeless, we run Bristol's only emergency 24 hour accommodation for young people at St George's House.

We are doing more and more work in trying to prevent homelessness through projects such as Inside Out which helps young people resettle after prison, and our through our peer education project which invites young people who have experienced homelessness to go into schools and talk to their peers about the realities of leaving home in an unplanned way.

Welcome to the Juice Squeeze Challenge sponsorship page!

Over the course of 2008 your challengers HV, Joby, Wood and Mr James will have 365 days to compete and complete 60 personal challenges between them. Most of the these challenges will be charitable... and your donations will be gratefully received!

All money raised will be donated to Priority Youth, a Bristol based charity that provide support services to homeless kids aged between 16 – 25 years old. Your money will help provide basic accommodation, training, education, life skills, and much more.

Forthcoming challenges include:

The mamouth undertaking of the 3 peaks challenge by Mr James and Wood in early October.

And the combined tough adventure race efforts by Joby and Wood.
