I finished the ING New York City Marathon on Sunday 1 November in 4 hours 18 mins and 10 seconds!
Along with 50,000 other runners it was an amazing experience, taking in all five of the boroughs, starting in Staten Island, onto Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan.
This website will still be open to safely collect donations, and all donations following the event are greatly appreciated.
Having braved my first marathon in 2007 raising £1500 for NCYPE, I will be upping the stakes in 2009 and running the ING New York City Marathon on 1 November, and hope to raise £2,000 for NCYPE!
The National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy (NCYPE) looks after and helps young people with severe epilepsy and other neurological conditions. They provide their young people with a wide range of specialist educational, medical and residential services which help them to get the most out of life.
NCYPE is such a worthy cause; having volunteered there myself for 6 months on graduating, working in music as therapy for the students, it is close to my heart and a good friend is now one of their incredibly dedicated teachers.
for a great short film about the work of the NCYPE: http://www.ncype.org.uk/about/film
Please give as generously as you can - every penny makes a difference for these children. Training has begun in earnest...so fingers crossed!
Thank you so much for supporting!
