Hello!
Please, please, please sponsor me.
Everyday I wake up and I thank my lucky stars, for I have a beautiful healthy little girl, a loving family and a clean bill of health. It makes me sad when I hear people moaning about the 'state of the country' and how the society that we live in has gone to ruin. Those of us that are fortunate to live in the UK will, at some point in your life, realise how lucky we are to have various services/ support groups at our fingertips.
Last July our Mum was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma, secondary Liver cancer of an unknown primary tumour. The cancer was extremely aggressive and quickly spread throughout her body. Mum lost her battle on the 24th August 2008.
We have a large, close and supportive family unit and were able to care for Mum at home, however some families are unable to do this and rely on the support of charities like St Giles. It isn't until you have to walk down this awful path that you realise how many people are going down the same route.
I've decided to do the Inca Trail in an effort to raise a few quid for this worthy cause. The trek is from Cuzco in Peru to Machu Picchu, the world heritage inca city. It involves crossing three mountain passes up to 4,200 metres (13,800ft). Much of the trek is made up of steps rather than paths, several thousand in fact, several hundred years old linking a string of ancient Inca settlements.
Please please please sponsor me.
Thank you x
