Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Well, I did it! Wow! Just fantastic! I had a brilliant day and now want to finish the course! Such an adrenaline rush - think I'm still up in the clouds!
Weather was great. Training was fine - a long day and alot to take in but we had fun and I passed. Our instructor, KT, was easy going and relaxed about it all - a good day. I was on the AFF course with one other girl but there were loads of people jumping all day. I think 9 people also did their first tandem jumps.
We finally went up in the Skyvan about 4.30pm I think, and that was the scariest bit. Had to walk backwards down the plane to the tailgate and it was really disorientating - knew I was going to jump out but for some reason falling out wasn't very appealing!
Anyway, survived that bit and the rest was just WOW! Freefell from about 12000ft with my instructors, Cossie and George, who I did all my checks with - really supportive. At 6000ft I opened my chute and glided back to earth. Seemed to take forever - at one point I didn't even think I was moving - but it was only minutes really. The views were fantastic and so so peaceful. I landed abit heavily so now I've just got to do it again so I get that bit right!
So that's it - completed and pased Level 1 of my AFF course - and I loved it! Mickey's going to try and put a picture on here. My 3 boys were there to watch and support me, ( and take the mick when they could! - bless! ). They took some photos and videoed my jump.
Huge thank yous to all of you who have sponsored and supported me - I really do appreciate it! Huge thanks also to all who helped and encouraged me at The Army Parachute Association. I'm starting to collect money in now and I think, altogether, at the moment I've raised about £855. I've got til April 28th beofre this site closes to raise more if I can and til beginning of May to collect it all in.
Thanks everyone!
