My story

It's official, Team Bean completed the jump on Saturday 10th October.  I am glad to report that each member made contact with the ground with little or no injury.

Martin and Kathy were the first lambs to the slaughter and jumped without having to be forced.  Well, Martin did seem reluctant to leave the plane, but after a few persuasive words from his instructor, he was quickly earth bound.  Kathy was quick to follow, not wanting to be left behind, and even beat Martin to the ground.  Show off.... although she did look like a giant Mento!

After a short time, Catherine and Paul departed on their journey into the unknown.  They could hardly contain themselves as they stood and listened to both Kathy and Martin harp on about their experiences.  No sooner were they fastened up in their suits and harnesses, they were on their way to the plane.  Unfortunately, as the plane was a little rickety and space was at a premium, Team Bean had to be split into two groups.  However, as the plane carried the final two jumpers to 14,500 feet, the cloud cover ment that it was an anxious wait for the supporters below as both Paul and Catherine seemed to hide deep in the clouds.  Both made it down alive and seemed just as hyped up as the previous two jumpers.

So, there you have it... Team Bean jumped!  It was an emotional journey for all four members, but they got there and are very proud of their achievement.  However, no time for back patting and high fives as Team Bean still wish to raise the £2,000 for Meningitis Trust as they promised.  Team Bean would appreciate your help in getting to the target.  Please sponsor Team Bean for a tremendous effort by donating today.

Remember, all money raised will automatically go to Meningitis Trust and will fund vital research into the disease, as well as funding a 24 hour nurse hotline and providing help and care for victims of the disease.

Thanks,

Team Bean.

Thanks for taking the time to visit the official sponsorship page of Team Bean.

Team Bean is made up of 4 crazy individuals, who thought it would be sensible to partake in a life changing activity whilst raising money for charity.  The team members are: Martin Humphries; Kathy Atkinson; Catherine Newsome and Paul North.

On Saturday 10th October, somewhere over the peaceful Lincolnshire countryside, each member of Team Bean will be throwing caution and themselves to the wind as they attempt to complete a 14,500 foot tandem parachute jump in aid of Meningitis Trust.  The jump will take place at Hibaldstow airfield and Team Bean really would like your support.

Team Bean is hoping to raise at least £2000 for Meningitis Trust.  The charity was chosen by Martin as his cousin (Joanne) died from the disease at the age of 16.  Martin made a pledge to raise as much money as possible for the trust so that other families would never have to lose a child to the disease.  So, with your help and donations, vital research can be funded, essential services such as nursed hotlines can be financed, after care and support services can be made available to the victims that require care.  Furthermore, and more importantly, this jump will promote awareness for the disease.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So, be a star and show your support for Team Bean by digging deep and sponsoring them.

Well done to you both, a great charity to raise funds for. With best wishes Jenny & Bernard Wright, Worthing, Sussex Donation by SANDRA JENNIFER WRIGHT 11/11/09
