My story

Hello everyone

For those of you who already know my story or new people visiting this page, below is a brief outline of my journey.

In 2005 (after 10 years of suffering with chest pains and 2 right lung collapses in my early 20's), I was diagnosed with end stage
LYMPHANGIOLEIOMYOMATOSIS (LAM)  and told that I had 12-18 months left to live, my right lung no longer functioned, and I would only survive if I received a transplant. My illness took a turn for the worst and my  left lung collapsed 13 times, to which I required 24 hour oxygen and became wheelchair bound.  Sadly  it was necessary to put me into an induced coma for 3 weeks as my body was shutting down with MRSA and other infections.

For further information about me/my illness/media work/online journal/other information during this period. Please refer to my website

This year in 2008, I am very excited to be taking part in 3 exciting eve
nts which are:- The European Transplant Games (June) and the UK Transplant Games (August). Also the Harefield Hospital Run (September) - Harefield Hospital was where I had my life saving double-lung transplant.  I will be sprinting 100m, 100m relay, 200m, 400m in the Transplant Games and running 3 miles at the Harefield event. All funds raised will go to the charity Lam Action as I  feel very passionate about research helping to find a cure for this horrific rare lung disease and prevent deaths in the future.

My goal is to do well, so that I am able to compete in the World Transplant Games in Australia 2009 !!

Finally, I would like to thank the man, MY DONOR who saved me from dying with no more pain and suffering. My Donor has given me a LIFE to fulfill wonderful and enriching goals/ambition to which I possess a real zest on my extension of life! I may get LAM again or  my lungs may reject, but, I do not worry about that now, and just live for today and always stay happy! Please speak to your loved ones about being a donor and sign up online (there is a link on my website). 1 person can save 7 people's lives...why let your organs go to heaven when your body is at rest? Let a life be saved like mine!! Thank you.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
