My story
This year I'm raising funds again to support the excellent work of Prospect Burma, which every year helps many Burmese take up opportunities to study outside Burma.
In particular I'm also helping to raise funds for a Deaf student S'don Mwight, a bright aspiring scholar whose whose Deafness has barred him from all but the most basic educational opportunities in Burma. With funds from the Deaf Empowerment Foundation coupled with the support of you and Prospect Burma, S'don will be able to study on a programme for Deaf students at the Indira Gandhi National Open University in New Delhi. He will be the first Deaf student supported by Prospect Burma. You can watch his university application video from this page.
S'don has taught me a great deal about the sign languages used in Burma and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to help him in return.

Prospect Burma invests in the democratic future of Burma by funding education for Burmese students who commit to return to Burma with their new found skills when possible. Aung San Suu Kyi supports us with her Nobel Prize funds, but each year we turn hundreds of students away due to a lack of funds.
