UPDATE

If you are kind enough to sponsor me £20 or more, your name will be put into the hat for a chance to win a sign England Away Top and a stack of other England memoribilia.

If you are kind enough to sponsor me under £20 your name will be put into a hat for the chance to win a Sky Sports Goody Bag containing Escape to Victory on DVD, a Barmy Army T-shirt and other England memoribilia.

The draw will take place at the end of April.

Burnley FC and Hartlepool United have also expressed their support and have asked me to stop by their grounds on my way.

Between Saturday 24th March and Saturday 7th April 2007, I will be cycling from St James Park (Newcastle United) to Upton Park (West Ham United) via the other 18 premiership grounds, with my good friend Sean keeping me company from the comfort of a van.  This will cover a distance in excess of 800 miles.  All this will be in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK

The schedule is as follows:

  • Saturday 24th March 2007 - Newcastle United & Middlesbrough FC
  • Monday 26th March 2007 - Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic, Liverpool FC & Everton FC
  • Tuesday 27th March 2007 - Manchester United, Manchester City and Sheffield United
  • Thursday 29th March 2007 - Aston Villa
  • Saturday 31st March 2007 - Watford FC
  • Monday 2nd April 2007 - Reading FC
  • Tuesday 3rd April 2007 - Portsmouth FC
  • Friday 6th April 2007 - Fulham FC, Chelsea FC, Charlton Atheltic, Arsenal FC, Tottenham Hotspur & Wembley Statdium
  • Saturday 7th April 2007 - West Ham United

We will be collecting signed shirts or memorabilia from each club along the way which will then be auctioned off after we have completed the journey (details to be finalised at a later date). Our aim is to raise a minimum of £10,000.

This is by no means an easy task to undertake for me and we feel that the fundraising target we have set reflects the scale of the journey we will be undertaking.  We would be grateful if you could dig deep and sponsor us generously.  This is for a fantastic cause which is close to our hearts, both for football and personal reasons

  • Back in the summer of 1999, I started to feel unwell, experiencing excruciating pain in my stomach.  Medication that my GP had given me was not helping and in the end he decided to refer me to a specialist, with the chilling words, "It might be nothing, but we can't rule out the possibility of it being bowel cancer."  At the age of 22 I thought I was invincible and couldn't beleive what this guy was telling me.

3 weeks later, I was in hospital having tests carried out.  Those 3 weeks were some of the worst 3 weeks I have encountered with my head swimming around with "what ifs".  The guys at the hospital in Southampton where I was being tested were superb and quickly had my results for me.

Luckily for me, it was all a false alarm.  Nothing more than a serious case of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.  I was lucky.

I feel that it only natural that I do something in return to help a chairty that works tirelessly to help develop a cure for Bowel Cancer but also give support for people who aren't as lucky as me

  • Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please dig deep and sponsor us now! Let your feiends, families and colleagues know about this too and encourage them to donate.

    Many thanks for your support.
