Welcome to our Justgiving page!
So, we're taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 11th October to raise some much needed funds for a fantastic cause!
The Challenge
13.1 miles around lovely parks in London.
For those of you familiar with the infamous 'tripping incident' on Brighton seafront please be assured that I (Karen) will be keeping well away from Pete's size 11s to avoid any further humiliation - but whether I'll be in front or behind remains to be seen!
To make thre challenge even harder we will run in fancy dress so any suggestions are welcome... for the right price!
Training has been going well and we're looking forward to the big day... but now we're after your money!
Why?
HarrisHospisCare are currently looking after my Nanny and we want to give something back to them to say thank you.
My Nanny has had breast cancer three times. She was diagnosed was on my 11th birthday 16 years ago. Her cancer has now returned for a fourth time, this time to her bones. She's amazing and has never once felt sorry for herself even though her mobility has been taken away from her very suddenly. She really is an inspiration.
Nanny is being looked after by a lovely community nurse called Laura from HarrisHospisCare who visits her at home regularly and she's been attending their Day Hospice every Thursday (which she calls "going up the club"!) where she's met lots of new friends and is being really well looked after.
All of the services available to her are completely free but they have to raise £1.5 million every year to keep going. Please give as generously as you can (don't forget that we'll dress up for the right price!). We know that things are tight at the moment but even a few pounds will make a big difference, maybe you could go without that pint or cup of coffee for a day?
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you!
Karen and Pete
