I work for H K Wentworth Limited, and  AF International, one of the HKW brands has supported the well-known children’s charity Barnardo’s through both a variety of staff fundraising activities and the sale of branded AF products since March 2007, raising thousands of pounds.

 

As Marketing Manager for H K Wentworth and the AF brand it’s become a charity I feel closely associated, after visiting local centres and seeing first-hand what magnificent work the charity does for children, young adults and families.

 

Initially Barnardo’s was chosen as the charity partner as two people in the organisation had grown up in what was Dr. Barnardo’s homes, something that no longer exists, but the Charity continued with the Barnardo’s name to raise money for those who desperately need it.

This year I personally want to achieve a half marathon, and after watching The Great North Run on TV for years, I’m ecstatic to be able to do this as my first. Not only will I be achieving a personal goal, I hopefully will be able to raise much needed cash for Barnardo’s.

Please put your hands in your pockets, dig deep and support me in my first long distance run and Barnardo’s, a great British charity.
