Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

I joined Slimming World in January this year and managed to lose half a stone, but as my motivation dropped off, so did my weight loss. I decided that I needed something to give me a kick up the bum, so I am raising money for Birmingham Children's Hospital. I hope by doing it for a brilliant cause, I will lose just under two stone!

The money will go specifically to Brain Tumour Research, carried out by Dr Peet at BCH. This will help children like Poppy Guilder, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2004, when she was just 14 months old. Poppy and her family have amazed us all with their resilient and happy attitudes, despite the tough times they have been through and still continue to go through during Poppy's treatment. They've also raised over £80,000 over the past four years for BCH! For more information on Poppy's story, visit www.poppyfieldsappeal.co.uk.

So please consider sponsoring me. It would make a huge difference to the treatment that children undergo for brain tumours, making the procedures less invasive and scary for them and funding research into the cause of them.

I will regularly update this page to keep you all informed of my progress and I promise not to include any bikini pictures! Lol.

and to pen a line from that well known advert. Here comes the science bit...

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Birmingham Children's Hospital Charities will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now! Help me get thinner and the Brain Tumour Research fund get fatter!

Many thanks for your support.

4th June - 0.5 lb off

11th June - 4 lbs off and slimmer of the week! Only one stone and one lb to go now...

18th June - 0.5 lb off and my stone and a half award!!

I HAVE FINALLY DONE IT! 14 months after starting my slimming, I have reached my goal and lost 2 stone and 7.5 lbs altogether! thanks for all of my friends and colleagues who have sponsored me - I couldn't have done it without your support (and pressure! Lol)

I am going to leave this page open for another month to allow those who haven't dinated yet to do so.

Thanks again and your money is going to a great cause.
