Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page to raise funds for Willen Hopsice in memory of Karl Jones.
Karl passed away peacefully in Willen Hospice on 4th June 2010, after a long and courageous fight against cancer, aged 24.
Myself, David Jones (Karl's father) and close friend Gary Witts will be attempting The Three Peaks Challenge on the 11th July 2010 to raise funds for Willen Hospice in Milton Keynes. Only 25% of the hospice costs are met through the NHS, for the rest they rely on donors and the voluntary efforts of the community. They provide specialist care and support for people (and their families) whose illness no longer responds to curative treatment, at no cost to the patient.
Aside from the amazing care and constant support Willen Hospice offered Karl and his family during his short stay, they are a local charity, I'm sure that cancer has affected almost all of us in some way so your donations to this cause are very much appreciated.
The challenge is to climb, and travel between the tallest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis 1344m), England (Scafell Pike 978m), and Wales (Snowdon 1085m) within a target time of 24 hours. The distance walked is around 25 miles, the height climbed is around 10,000 feet and the distance covered between the mountains is some 450 miles. We are confident we will beat the 24 hour target as this will be our second attempt!
Please donate what you can, no matter how little the amount.
Many thanks,
David
