My story

Many thanks to all for your very generous donations... I will be very proud to hand the money to Get Kids Going!!

I'm chuffed to report I managed to stagger through 26.2 miles in 4 hours 27 mins...which totally thrashed my 6 hour trolley dash around a 4 mile stretch of shops in Manhattan ;-)

It really was the most memorable day of my life. ING managed to make a tough event as painfree as possible, by organising everything with military like precision, which ensured all energies were focused on the marathon.

The race travels through the 5 boroughs of NYC... Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Harlem, which is a fantastic way to do a whistlestop sightseeing tour of an amazing city! What really made it a day to remember was the 1-2 million spectators unashamed, inexhaustible enthusiasm to cheer us on! Many thanks for your support. Kate x

Get Kids Going! helps disabled children take part in sport by providing specialist sports wheelchairs, sports grants and year round support. They can then compete in marathons, triathlons, tennis, athletics, skiing, rugby, basketball etc. With your help, many could become Paralympic champions and world record holders.
