My story

In January 2005 I will be in Sydney, helping to set up Trannyweb Australia and while I'm there, I'm hoping to fulfil a life-long ambition to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Several of my friends and family have been diagnosed with various forms of cancer over the last couple of years and so I've decided that it would make sense to use my climb as an excuse to raise some funding for a very worthy cause.

As one in three of us will have some form of cancer during the course of our lives, I have chosen a Cancer Research charity to be the beneficiary of your generosity.

I am paying for the trip myself and none of your sponsorship money will go to me.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

And remember, Cancer knows no geographical or political boundaries. A breakthrough in the fight against cancer is a breakthrough for the world, irrespective of which cancer charity or research institute is responsible, so if you don't live in the UK, please don't let that put you off. Please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support. Hugs, Katie x
